Titanium alloy has the following advantages compared to other metal materials:

① Higher than strength (tensile strength/density). The tensile strength can reach 100-140kgf/mm2, while the density is only 60% of that of steel.

② Good strength at medium temperature. The usage temperature is several degrees higher than that of aluminum alloy, and it can still maintain the required strength at medium temperatures. It can work for a long time at temperatures ranging from 450 to 500 ℃.

③ Good corrosion resistance. A uniform and dense oxide film is immediately formed on the surface of titanium in the atmosphere, which has the ability to resist erosion by various media. Titanium usually has good corrosion resistance in oxidizing and neutral media, and its corrosion resistance is even better in seawater, wet chlorine gas, and chloride solutions. However, in reducing media such as hydrochloric acid, titanium has poor corrosion resistance.

④ Good low-temperature performance. Titanium alloys with extremely low interstitial elements, such as TA7, can maintain a certain degree of plasticity at -253 ℃.

⑤ Low elastic modulus, low thermal conductivity, and no ferromagnetism.
